RAJANPUR, June 2: Four people were killed and another nine injured when an oil-tanker ploughed into shops at Afzalabad stop after one of its tyres burst near Rajanpur on the Indus Highway on Saturday.
Reports said that the tanker (PLJ-181), carrying 40,000 litre oil, was going to Rajanpur from Mahmood Kot. The tanker went out of driver’s control and smashed into six roadside shops. Consequently, Muhammad Boota, Riaz, Dr Afzal Kamboh and Faqir Bakhsh died instantly while driver Bashir Ahmed, Zahid, Shafiq, Mehboob, Abbas, Suleman, Rahib, Sajaid and Haji Murral sustained serious injuries. They were rushed to Fazilpur hospital.
A case has been registered.
