NAWABSHAH, May 31: District Nazim Ms Faryal Talpur on Thursday imposed ban on all sorts of financial transactions by all the offices of the district government after receiving complaints from the District Accounts Committee that the DCO, EDO finance and other EDOs were not cooperating with the committee.

She directed the district accounts officer not to entertain any bill except that of medicines and salaries over complaints by the committee that the DCO, EDO finance and planning, other EDOs and drawing and disbursing officers were not ready to show the body financial records.

The nazim’s order stated that the business was not being carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Ordinance by DCO, EDO finance and other EDOs. Therefore, she under section 138 (10) of Ordinance and in exercise of powers conferred on her under section (18) (1) (d) (g) (o) for taking remedial measures to maintain financial discipline, imposed complete ban on all sorts of financial transactions by all the heads of offices and DDOs.

The DDO would not prepare any bill and the district accounts officer would not entertain any except the bills of salaries and medicines or the bills approved by the district nazim till further orders, the order said.

Meanwhile, the district council meeting on Thursday passed a resolution tabled by the committee members Islam Khan Zardari and Abdul Rasool Brohi stating that the DCO and EDO were not cooperating with the elected district government,

KILLING: Two men fell victim to revenge-killing in separate incidents and one was killed after his motorcycle slipped on a road in the city on Thursday.

Reports said that unknown assailants shot dead Akbar Khokhar on the Station Road in Sakrand reportedly over a matrimonial dispute with Umrani tribesmen. He had escaped unhurt an attempt on life outside the sessions court a few days ago.

Pir Fakhruddin, 30, of Sakrand was killed after his motorcycle slipped on the Airport Road while Mohammad Saleh Siyal, 50, died in Nawabshah Medical College Hospital from wounds he had suffered a day ago in an attack by four men at Qazi Ahmed Bazaar.

Qazi Ahmed police have lodged an FIR under sections 302, 504 and 34 PPC on the complaint of Saleh Siyal’s son Mumtaz Ali against Gada Hussain Shah, Nizamuddin Mallah, Babu Dharejo and an unidentified person.

GASTROENTERITIS: About 50 new cases of gastroenteritis, mainly children, were reported at several hospitals of the district on Thursday.

Fifteen children including Imran, Hassan, Sana, Nadia, Rabia, Shoaib, Waheed, Mashooq, Saleem, Faizan, Adeel and Sabohi were admitted to paediatrics and medicine wards of Nawabshah Medical College Hospital.

Sakrand Taluka Hospital, Qazi Ahmed Health Centre, Buchheri Health Centre and a number of basic health centres reported more than 22 cases.
