PESHAWAR, May 27: NWFP Governor Ali Muhammad Jan Aurakzai has called for partnership between public and private organisations to cope with challenges faced by the country in the health and education sectors.

Speaking on Sunday at the launching ceremony of the Comprehensive Health and Education Forum (Chef), a non-governmental organisation, he said that relying on public sector alone to treat and rehabilitate the ailing community might require years to improve the situation.

“Considering the existing lack of facilities in the health and education sectors, it is evident that no single stakeholder alone can meet the challenges,” he said.

The governor appreciated the training modules drawn up by the organisation for providing technical health services and formal and informal education relating to skill development and vocational training for the disabled.

He said that self-sustainable mechanism with an approach of easy availability, affordability, accessibility and equity to benefit the target population in a systematic manner were also practical ways aimed at improving the quality of life of the people in general and the targeted population in particular.

“This will not only benefit the affected members but also result in the overall improvement of society,” he observed.
