DADU, May 24: The Dadu Taluka Council cancelled tenders of 22 development schemes during a meeting on Thursday. It demanded fresh invitations.
The meeting was presided by taluka naib nazim, Syed Murad Ali Shah.
Member Anwar Mallah presented a motion that taluka nazim Naban Khan Lund was in jail in a murder case, while zila naib nazim Murad Ali Shah, on the orders of a court, was working as acting taluka nazim to release the salaries but he approved tenders of 22 schemes of his favourites. He demanded cancellation of tenders invited by acting taluka nazim.
Sohrab Solangi said the schemes were not being given on merit. Soni Solangi said tenders should be invited after receiving schemes from council members. Members unanimously passed the resolution and cancelled the tenders of 22 schemes.
Speaking on the occasion, taluka nazim Naban Lund said that streets and roads of the town will be constructed and drainage scheme will begin soon.
Meanwhile, taluka naib nazim, Syed Murad Ali Shah told reporters that he invited tenders only after the permission of local government.
