KARACHI, May 24: Badar Abro, eminent Sindhi short story writer and archaeology researcher, underwent an open-heart surgery at the National Medical Centre here on Thursday.

Family members quoted doctors as saying that the operation was successful and the 54-year-old intellectual would be moved to the intensive-care unit on Friday.
