KARACHI, May 24: Nine ships carrying tallow, containers and to load cement are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was active where eight ships, Harmony, Y.M. Sun, Hyundai Future to unload and load containers, Thor Falcon, Orionis, to unload and load general cargo, Al-Abdullah to load cement, Steela-M to load rice and Taylor to offload oil were berthed.

Sailing activity was also brisk as half a dozen ships, Harmony, Oel Victory, Aqaba Express, Sea Princess, APL Sokhna and Lalazar left the port, while Hyundai Future, Orionis, C. Glaxy, Y.M. Sun, Taylor, Stella-M and Oel Esteem are due to sail out on Friday.

A total tonnage of 66,225 tons comprising 29,852 tons of export cargo and 36,373 tons of import tonnage was handled on Thursday.

The following ships are due on Friday: Earth Blue with 8,500 tons of tallow, Eric Calvin Gibson, Jable Ali, Empress Phoenic, Oel Express with containers, Split with coal, Nafto Cement Jalkir-2 to load 12,000 and 7,800 tons cement, Multan with general cargo and Atlantic Express with steel cargo.
