3 Mujahideen killed in Kashmir

SRINAGAR, Feb 28: Six people, including three Mujahideen, were killed in occupied Kashmir and police recovered 20kg of explosives, police said on Thursday.

Indian forces claimed killing two members of the Lashkar-i-Taiba in the village of Bachianwali, in Poonch district. Police alleged the two activists, Abu Vikas and Abu Umar Ansari, were from Rawalpindi.

A commander of the Hizbul Mujahideen was shot dead by BSF at Naibug village. A BSF spokesman said he was identified as Bashir Reshi alias Sadiq Jan, a landmine expert.

Police accused the Mujahideen of killing three Muslims, including a former freedom fighter in the Anantnag, Baramulla and Doda districts.—AFP
