82 entries for Open qualifying round

LAHORE, Feb 28: As many as 82 entries have been received for the Pakistan Open squash tournament pre qualifying round which will be held at three different venues from March 18 to 20.

The qualifying round will be played from March 20 to 23  while the main round from March 24 to 27.

A Punjab Squash Association spokesman said Thursday  that both the pre-qualifying and the qualifying round will be held  at the Lahore Gymkhana, Punjab Squash Complexand Lahore Gymkhana Club courts.

The venue for the main round, which will be played for the first time in Pakistan at the all-glass court, will be either the Lahore Garrison or the Fortress  Stadium. 

A final decision in this regard is likely to be taken tomorrow (Friday).

The spokesman said that the glass court which was imported from Germany had reached at Karachi and would  arrive  here  in couple of days.

The technical staff to fit the glass court at the venue would be here by March 20.

Eight players will qualify for the main round to make it

32- men draw. Amjad Khan from Pakistan is the wild card entry.
