LAHORE, May 17: The Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) will observe a black day in all the public-sector hospitals of the city on Friday (today). PMA Lahore secretary-general Dr Azimuddin Zahid said on Thursday the Punjab health department was creating hurdles in the promotion of general cadre medical officers against the posts of senior registrar, specialists and assistant professors (basic sciences).
The PMA members would also wear black armbands to protest against the decision to rehire some retired doctors against important posts and grant extension to others. —Staff Reporter
