OKARA, May 9: Tension developed between the Military Farms administration and the tenants over the construction of boundary wall in 3 MF tenants villages. Police were rushed to the site to avoid any untoward situation.
It is learnt that the farms administration started construction of a three-kilometre-long wall for ‘security purpose’ in villages 11/4-L, 12/4-L and 15/4-L. The tenants, including dozens of men and women, came to the site and protested against the construction of the wall. They raised slogans against the farms administration.
Anjuman Mazareen Punjab general secretary Mehr Abdul Sattar, meanwhile, accused of farms administration for creating unrest in the area.
The AMP officials are scheduled to meet the farms administration today at 10am.
CHILD KIDNAPPED: A man allegedly kidnapped a child to sacrifice him for the treatment of his ailing wife on the advice of a sorcerer.
Perveen, the wife of Abdul Majid, resident of Chak 6/4-L has been ill for a long time. Majid met sorcerer Younas of Gujranwala who suggested him to bring blood of a boy to write a talisman for his ailing wife.
Majid kidnapped Tahir Nawaz, 8, a student of grade five from Chak 6/4-L bazaar. Younas laid the minor and took out a knife to take blood from his spinal cord.
The boy raised an alarm and villagers gathered there. On seeing the people, Younas managed to escape from the scene while the police arrested Majid.
LAWYERS: The lawyers observed thanksgiving day on Wednesday over formation of a full bench to hear the presidential reference against the Chief Justice of Pakistan.
The lawyers distributed sweets on the occasion.
