Asim Shafik inquarter-finals

LAHORE, May 2: Second-seed Asim Shafik outplayed Hidayatullah 6-3, 6-2 to book his place in quarter-finals of men's singles of the Pakistan Open tennis for Nazim Cup at the Royal Palm Club on Wednesday.

Top-seed Aqeel Khan won 6-0, 4-0 as his opponent Abdullah Sheikh got injured and could not continue the match.

In boys' under-17 pre-quarter-finals, S. Zohair Raza defeated M. Ghufran in straight sets (6-1, 6-1).

Hamza Pataudi stole the limelight when he outclassed Haider Ali 6-0, 6-1 in boys' under-14 quarter-finals to confirm his berth in semi-finals.
