PESHAWAR, April 30: A project worth Rs460 million has been approved for the development and upgradation of infrastructure and faculty of Hazara University which was damaged by the October 8 earthquake.
A press release issued by the university here on Monday said that the grant for the major development project titled “Post-quake Development” plan had been approved by the central development working party during a meeting in Islamabad.
It said that faculty hostels, student-teacher centre, multi-purpose hall and a boundary wall would be constructed under the project.
Sixty faculty members of the Hazara University will be sent abroad for higher education (PhD) in various developed countries like the USA, UK and Australia under the project.
The federal government and the Higher Education Commission extended financial support and cooperation in this regard to the university.
