BBC to help rebuild Afghan media

PARIS, Feb 27: The British Broadcasting Corporation is attempting to parlay its 60-year association with Afghanistan into a contract to help rebuild the Afghan communications sector.

According to British media sources, the BBC is presently in negotiations with the Department for International Development (DFID) with a view to obtaining the financial support with which to allow it to spend the next five years rebuilding Afghanistan’s media infrastructure.
