KARACHI, April 26: The organisation of the three match one-day series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi has run into more problems with the organizers cancelling the contract of a firm which was awarded the television rights of the tournament.
Sources in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that the Abu Dhabi Cricket Council (ADCC) had cancelled the contract given earlier to a company called IMC for its inability to furnish the very first installment. "The ADCC had initially awarded the television rights of the series to IMC but apparenty there was a default in payment of the first installement and the contract now stands cancelled," the source said.
He added the ADCC was toying with the idea of delaying the series by a week in order to properly secure the television rights of the series.
"At this moment the position is that the television rights are up for sale but no party has shown any interest in acquiring it at a competitive rate," the source disclosed.
