Youth shot dead by marriage revelers

LAHORE, April 26: A young man was shot dead allegedly by three marriage participants when he tried to stop them from aerial firing in the Green Cab Housing Scheme here on Thursday.

Nishtar Colony police said the nikkah ceremony of Younas’ son was taking place in front of Ghulam Nabi’s house when Manqam Shah, Usman and Arjumand started aerial firing to celebrate the event.

When Ghulam Nabi stopped them for doing so, they got infuriated and exchanged arguments with him. Later, they shot him dead and escaped.

Kot Lakhpat police quoted Rahim Gull as saying that his daughter, Nasrin, had shot herself in her room with his pistol.

He denied any love affair or any other domestic issue behind the suicide.

BODY FOUND: The putrefied body of an unidentified man was found in Charrar village.

Defence police claimed that the man, around 35, seemed to be an addict and might have died a couple of days ago.—Staff Reporter
