UAE team meets child jockeys

RAHIM YAR KHAN, April 18: A high-level delegation of the UAE government visited Rahim Yar Khan and closely monitored for some five days the rehabilitation of the camel jockey children.

The delegation members comprised Maj-Gen Khalil Badraan, Col Najamul Hussaini, Lt-Col Salaam-ush-Shamsi and UAE government advisor Michel R. Bud. Punjab’s Unicef program officer Shamshad Ahmed Qureshi, Punjab camel jockey project in charge Fayaz Ahmed Butt and Punjab CPWB chairperson Dr Faiza Asghar also accompanied the delegation.

During their stay, the UAE team met jockey children in their schools and homes and expressed satisfaction over the rehabilitation process.

Maj-Gen Khalil Badraan advised the children to take keen interest in their education. He also vowed to provide them employment in the UAE after successfully completion of their education. He also distributed prizes among the jockey children.
