HYDERABAD, April 17: Work on the Right Bank Outfall Drain (RBOD) resumed on Tuesday near Karam Deen village in Kotri taluka after it had to be stopped when the villagers attacked on Saturday a team of Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) - the executing agency of presidential project - and pelted officials with stones.
Superintending Engineer Altaf Memon of RBOD confirmed that work began on Tuesday after villagers were persuaded that none of their amenity or building would be touched.
Villagers had filed a petition at the Hyderabad circuit bench of the Sindh High Court questioning the work. On last date of hearing executing engineer had filed an undertaking before the bench that no amenity or building would be touched and only drain would be excavated. His statement was taken on record.
