LAHORE, April 17: Minister for Chief Minister’s Inspection Team Col Shuja Khanzada (retired) said the CMIT will monitor the wheat procurement drive to ensure that farmers are paid the support price and the role of the middleman is eliminated.
Presiding over a meeting here on Tuesday, he said the CMIT had got the lists of procurement centres and constituted monitoring teams to ensure the provision of gunny bags to farmers and payment of support price. Stern action would be taken against the officials found indulging in malpractices, he said.
He urged the members to play an effective role for elimination of the middleman so that the farmers could get the right price of their produce.
He asked the farmers to also bring malpractices to the notice of the inspection teams for action against the corrupt officials. —Reporter
