GUJRANWALA, April 17: A businessman was kidnapped along with his car from kamoki here on Tuesday night. Reports said Dubai-returned Siddique Sultan Ali, who shared ownership of a kamoki rice mills, was on his way home by a car when unidentified outlaws kidnapped him along with car.
Siddique’s family, confirming the kidnap, said they had yet not been contacted by his abductors.
Kamoki Saddar police claimed that though the victim’s brother came to the police station, he did not file any application for registration of a case.
ACE probe: The Anti-corruption Establishment on Tuesday initiated probe into the alleged theft of 260 wheat bags by some food department officials on the complaint of a flour miller.
Reports said complainant Muazam Ali of Viniawala village on Sialkot road complained that he deposited money with the food department for purchase of 400 bags of wheat. But, he alleged that officials at Naushera virkan food department centre supplied him only 120 bags while and remaining 260 bags were not delivered. He accused an assistant food controller, Naser Ullah Khan, food inspectors Azmat Ali, Zafar Ullah Gul and Muhammad Qasim of stealing away the bags.
ACE inquiry officer Nawaz Warriach has summoned the accused for investigations. — Correspondent
