QUETTA, April 15: Formal and non-formal border trade between Pakistan and Iran was resumed on Saturday after Iranian authorities reopened the border with Pakistan at Taftan after a break of two months.
The Iranian government had closed the border with Pakistan at Taftan after the killing of 14 Revolutionary Guards in Zahidan area in February. A shadowy militant group named Jundullah had claimed responsibility for the attack.
“Iranian authorities reopened the border with Pakistan on Saturday,” Jalil Mohammadani, the Naib Nazim of the Taftan tehsil, told Dawn by phone on Sunday.
