MULTAN, April 14: Federal Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad has said that no one would be allowed to conduct an operation inside Pakistan. He said this while talking to reporters after addressing a gathering of the Railways labourers here on Saturday.

The federal minister ratified President Musharraf warning of breaking alliance with the international community in war on terror.

He said the present assemblies would re-elect President Musharraf for the next five years.

Mr Rashid said that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif could not return to Pakistan for the next three years, however, if he tried, he could come on a transit visa like his brother Shahbaz Sharif. He said Nawaz Sharif could take advantage of the media.

He said the Lal Masjid issue was concerned with the federal religious affairs minister and he had nothing to do with it.

Earlier, the federal minister in his address to labourers said he would soon visit Iran to discuss railway link to Europe via Iran. He said currently some three to four trains running in deficit would be closed.

The ticketing system on all the major railway stations would soon be computerized to eliminate black-marketing. He said the railway fares would also be reduced in few weeks.

The opposition parties had failed to launch any campaign against the government and now they were trying to take advantage of the lawyers’ movement, he said.— Online
