LAHORE, April 12: The Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) has criticised Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for instructing its Regional Development Officers (RDOs) to directly select U-19 and U-15 teams from the clubs, which are affiliated with the association.

LCCA president, Aamir Hayat Khan Rokri told journalists that the PCB had ordered the RDOs to go and select the two teams from the clubs, bypassing the LCCA, which was ethically and constitutionally wrong.

"It is ample proof of gross interference in the affairs of the LCCA for which the association will contact the KCCA and other district associations to take a joint step," he said.

He added that the LCCA had already instructed the clubs not to cooperate with the RDOs.

He disclosed that the PCB had already been involved in selecting LCCA teams for the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy and further interfered by directly picking teams at club level, which showed it did not recognize the associations.

He said a joint meeting of the different associations would be held next week.

He said the long ad hoc system on the PCB had already made the association non-functional and he demanded the immediate revival of the constitution.

He said the role of the city associations had been limited in the absence of the constitution and it should be implemented as soon as possible.

The U-19 and U-15 tournaments are to start from April 25.
