SAHIWAL, April 12: On the orders of the chief minister, a sanitary inspector accused of corruption was transferred on Thursday from here after 18 years. Sahiwal DHQ hospital’s sanitary inspector Khalid Pervez had allegedly embezzled medicines worth Rs0.8 million and misappropriated sale proceeds of trees of the hospital amounting to Rs0.318 million.
At a district council session on Jan 21, 2007, members Sajid Chaudhry, Asif Mahmood and Shakeel Niazi had drawn attention of the chair towards the issue and demanded that the house should seek a report from the EDO (health). According to members, an inquiry had proved the sanitary inspector guilty.
On Thursday, Khalid Pervez was transferred from the DHQ hospital while Nadeem Chaudhry has taken over the charge.
