Abbottabad jail to be shifted

PESHAWAR, April 11: The NWFP government has decided to shift the Abbottabad district jail. A girls college and a sports stadium is likely to be set at the site where the prison presently stands.

These decisions were taken at a meeting attended by provincial Minister for Rural Development and Local Government Sardar Mohammad Idrees, Pakistan Muslim League-Q parliamentary leader Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani and MPA Qazi Mohammad Asad on Wednesday.

The minister directed the district revenue officer and other officials of the district administration to identify a site outside Abbottabad city for the new prison. He asked the officers to submit a report on the issue as soon as possible, said a handout.
