Plea to remove death cell iron nets

LAHORE, April 6: A petition filed in the Lahore High Court on Friday sought directions for removal of iron nets in front of death cells in the district jails of Jhang and Sialkot. Petitioner-advocate M D Tahir submitted that the administration of both the prisons had affixed iron nets in front of the death cells on security grounds, but it was an inhuman act because the prisoners were already locked on all four sides and were left without any sunlight and fresh air.
