KRL enjoy good day

KARACHI, April 3: Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) took early advantage of their Pentangular Cup fixture against NWFP-Balochistan after bowling out the combined outfit for a modest first-innings total of 221 at the UBL Sports Complex here on Tuesday.

Yasir Arafat, the pace bowling all-rounder, grabbed three for 38 while medium-pacer Akhtar Ayub claimed two for 27 after KRL skipper Mohammad Wasim chose to send NWFP-Balochistan into bat.

The only man to make worthwhile contribution for NWFP-Balochistan was Janisar Khan who finished 92 not out. His 158-ball innings contained 13 boundaries and one six.

By close of play on day one, KRL were 58 for no wicket.
