RAWALPINDI/GUJRAT, March 29: A suicide bomber blew himself up in an army training area in Guliana near Kharian Cantonment on Thursday, killing two soldiers and injuring seven others.
According to the ISPR, an old man came into the training area and exploded himself where soldiers were busy in training.
Ghulam Rasool died on the spot and eight other soldiers were injured in the incident at around 11:45am. The injured were taken to the Combined Military Hospital in Kharian, where Mr Masood died.
According to sources, the suicide bomber had long hair and he was wearing Shalwar Kameez.
The injured were identified as Asad Jehangir, Aurangzeb, Shahid, Sajid Hussain, Akhtar Hayat, Zafar Iqbal and Haq Nawaz.
Intelligence officials and policemen collected evidence from the site of the blast.
The Gulliana police station registered a case on a complaint of an army officer and sealed the FIR.
The DSP Kharian told Dawn by telephone that it would be difficult to identity the suicide bomber because his remains only included his two limbs. Security forces have cordoned off the area.
