Man jailed for abusive remarks

LAHORE, March 29: An anti-terrorism court on Thursday sentenced a district leader of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal to five-year imprisonment for making abusive remarks against President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz. The prosecution said Maulana Shabbir Ahmad Hashmi, Kasur district chief of the MMA, had made the remarks at a public meeting against the Women Protection Bill.—Staff Reporter
