ISLAMABAD, March 28: Aamir Atlas of Pakistan defeated Egypt’s Omer Elborolossy in straight sets to confirm his place in semi-finals of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) International squash championship at the Mushaf Squash Complex on Wednesday.
Aamir took 56 minutes to thrash the Egyptian 11-10 (14-12), 11-9, 11-5.
Another Pakistani, Mansoor Zaman also qualified for the semi-finals of the US$25,000 championship by beating Omar Abdel Aziz Egypt 11-7, 11-10 (2-0), 10-11 (3-2), 10-11 (3-2), 11-8 in the 65-minute battle.
Aamir Atlas will now face England’s Adrian Grant, who defeated Mark Crajsack of Hungary 11-9, 11-7, 11-8 in 33 minutes.
Mansoor will clash with Malaysia’s Ong Beng Hee, who won against Farhan Mehboob of Pakistan 11-9, 10-11 (1-3), 11-9, 10-11 (0-2), 11-7 in 73 minutes.—APP
