HYDERABAD, March 26: The District Development Working Party (DDWP) has approved Rs212.184 million 39 different development schemes for the urban and rural areas of the district under different development heads.

The meeting was held on Sunday and chaired by DCO Mohammad Hussain Syed.

Mr Syed said giving breakup of the schemes that 10 Rs185.117 million development schemes had been approved under Annual Development Plan (ADP) 2006-07, which included schemes for the installation of streetlights, construction/improvement of medians and roundabouts, improvement of greenbelts and existing parks, improvement of sewers and roads at the truck stand near Hala Naka, repair/renovation of several union council nazims' offices in phase-I.

The meeting also approves schemes for 100-bedded hospital in Kohisar Housing Scheme, upgradation/improvement of Basic Health Unit into a 10-bedded MCH centre (two units), upgradation/improvement of Qasimabad Hospital and upgradation/improvement of Paretabad hospital.

The DDWP endorsed two other revised schemes for the upgradation of a primary school to middle school (2001-02 programme) in Tando Wali Mohammad and construction of a school building for shelter-less primary schools (five-roomed) under 2004-05 programme.

In addition, the party gave its approval to as many as Rs19.246 million 24 development schemes under the public representatives’ programme (MPAs priority programme and Khushhal Pakistan Programme).

The programme included two schemes recommended by Senator Dr Javed Leghari, for the construction of a musafirkhana (ladies and gents) and reconstruction of standard MCH centre-cum-dispensary in Bakhshu Leghari village.

MPA Aslam Pervez, MPA Ali Nawaz Talpur, MPA Kulsoom Nizamani and MPA Abdul Rehman also recommended different development works.

In addition, the party approved eight schemes including construction of CC streets in Marvi Town, UC-3 of Qasimabad, construction of sewerage system and CC streets in Al-Mustafa town, UC-2 of Qasimabad taluka, construction of CC streets and CC drains in several areas of Hur Camp in UC-4 of Qasimabad, construction of CC drains in Audo Khan Jatoi village in UC-16 of city taluka, construction of surface drain in Khan Mohammad Khoso village, UC-16 of city taluka, brick pavement in Auk Brohi village, UC-3 of Qasimabad, brick pavement in Pir Bux Palari village, UC-3 of Qasimabad and construction of CC streets in peon colony behind Shahbaz Building, which was recommended by MPA Farheen Mughal.

The meeting endorsed a scheme for the installation of street poles in Qasimabad on the recommendation of MNA Shagufta Jumani, besides extension of water supply lines in Bhittai Town, UC-3 of Qasimabad.
