KARACHI, March 26: LPG Distributors’ Welfare Association has announced a cut of Rs25 to 30 in the total price of 11.8 kilogrammes and said that LPG cylinders were now available at Rs530.
Chairman of the association Hadi Khan said that the decision of new prices was enforced from Monday, adding that the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) would now be available at a retail price of Rs47 per kilogramme, instead of Rs50.
He said that the prices of LPG could further be reduced if the government exempted its import from sales and withholding taxes.
It was said that there was a difference of Rs7,000 to 8,000 in per ton imported and local LPG, but distributors were providing it at minimum prices to consumers.
It was added that at present the number of LPG consumers was above 50 million in the country.
