KARACHI, March 26: Adviser to the Chief Minister on Home Waseem Akhtar has said that recruitment of 4,000 police personnel for Karachi and 2,500 each for Hyderabad and Sukkur has been proposed. He hoped that allocations in this regard would be made in the next budget.
Speaking at a meeting of Federal B Area Association of Trade and Industry on Monday, he said a large number of police personnel were engaged in protocol and security duties for foreign delegates, religious and political figures and officials. “This is a big burden on the department,” he remarked.
The adviser ordered allotment of motorbikes to police for patrolling the F. B Industrial Area, and thanked Dewan Yousuf, Federal Minister Babar Ghouri, and M/s Mobile Zone for donating the motorcycles.—PPI
