LAHORE, March 25: Four people were injured, one of them seriously, in firing by opponents at Lakhoder village in Manawan area on Sunday night.
Police said Baber Sohail Butt along with his bodyguards was on his way home by his car when assailants opened indiscriminate fire on them. Consequently, Sohail Butt and his gunmen Naveed, Rasheed and Asif received bullet wounds. Three of them were rushed to the Services Hospital while Asif was shifted to Mayo Hospital in serious condition.
Faraz Butt, the brother of Baber, said that their rival Munir Jutt of the same village might have involved in the attack.
ARRESTED: Naulakha police on Sunday claimed to have smashed an inter-district gang of thieves and arrested its three members.
A police team, led by the Naulakha circle SPO, nabbed ringleader Muhammad Akram and his two accomplices, Samiullah and Shahid, from their hideout. The police also recovered four bicycles, a computer besides illegal weapons from their possession.
The accused, who made confession to 21 crimes, had shot and injured Javed for raising an alarm during a theft incident in his house in Mianwali.—Staff Reporter
