Call to end occupation of Bazai tribe’s land

QUETTA, March 20: The Balochistan Assembly unanimously adopted on Monday a resolution urging the federal government to stop the administration of the air force and army from occupying land of the Bazai tribe in the suburbs of the provincial capital.

Provincial Minister Maulana Abdul Rahim Bazai tabled the resolution saying that the Bazai tribe has been owners of the land for three centuries in Aghbarg, Saraghargai, Chasma Achozai, Hanna, Urak, and the western and eastern bypass of Quetta tehsil, adding that the land was now being illegally occupied by the air force and army.

Speaker Jamal Shah Kakar, who chaired the proceedings, admitted an adjournment motion of Abdur Rahim Ziaratwal pertaining to deterioration of the education system and lack of facilities for students in government schools.

The house approved the resolution moved by provincial Minister Maulana Faiz Mohammad urging the provincial government to regularise the service of 1,500 contractual employees of the water management project.

The chair directed Deputy Speaker Mohammad Aslam Bhootani to inform Minister for Finance Syed Ehsan Shah to be present in the house on March 22 to answer questions of opposition members.
