KARACHI, March 19: Skipper Faisal Iqbal and Bazid Khan struck half-centuries to help PIA defeat Wapda by six wickets in the ABN-Amro One-day Patron’s Cup match at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Monday.

Faisal, who made 76 against KRL on Saturday, finished unbeaten on an 87-ball 66, which included eight fours, while Bazid hit 50 off 77 balls as PIA reached their target of 219 in the 47th over.

Earlier, Bilal Khilji’s 93 off 111 balls with seven fours was main feature of Wapda’s total of 218 for seven.

On the initiative of Pakistan batsman Faisal, both teams wore black armbands and observed a minute’s silence as a mark of respect to Bob Woolmer, the Pakistan coach who died in Kingston on Sunday.
