LAHORE, March 19: The CIA claimed to have arrested 52 proclaimed offenders and recovered huge cache of illegal arms from their possession during a crackdown in the city between March 18 and 19.
DIG (investigation) Tassadaq Husain, on the directives of the capital city police officer, constituted different teams under the supervision of CIA SP which conducted raids in different areas of the city.
The CIA city division raided dens of Javed Iqbal alias Kala Daiwala and Muhammad Husain near Saggian Bridge and arrested eight criminals.
Other teams nabbed 44 offenders from different areas of the city.
The police also registered 30 cases of possession of illegal arms and recovered 35 pistols, one rifle, one gun, two revolvers and 322 bullets from their custody.
The arrested proclaimed offenders include Heera, Ashraf, Zahid, Imtiaz, Arshad, Zeshan, Salomi Rana, Nasir, Yasin, Imran, Zulfiqar, Salim, Bholli, Afzal, Waris Ali, Allah Rakha, Javed, Amin, Tahir and Irshad alias Shahda.
They were wanted in two murder cases, four robbery and 14 other miscellaneous cases.
POLICE: Chuhng investigation police claimed on Monday to have arrested two criminals involved in a number of street crimes and seized looted valuables from them.
A special team nabbed, constituted by the Chuhng ASP, the felons from a park on a tip-off.
They recovered one car, three cell phones, two pistols and bullets from their possession.
Identified as Shahbaz Ali alias Tarak and Rana Usman, they confessed to committing 16 crimes, claim police.
