KARACHI, March 18: Admissions to Dr Ishratul Ibad Institute of Oral Health Sciences and Dow International Medical College will be opened following the final approval by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council.
This was disclosed by the Vice-Chancellor of Dow University of Health Sciences Professor Masood Hameed Khan while addressing the launching ceremony of a book ‘Physiology, Principles and Applications’ written by Professor Shoaib Tauheed. He said admissions under the university affiliation would start from March 22.
He described the book as a milestone in the medical science studies. Saying that medical students have been getting education from books written by foreigners, he pointed out that books of local writers would help medical students in the country.
The vice-chancellor of Baqai University, Professor Azhar Ahmed, Medical Director Aga Khan University Professor Waseem Jaffery, Dow Medical College Principal Professor Salahuddin, Pakistan Physiology Society President Dr Mumtaz Memon and Professor Mohsin Siddiqui also spoke.
They appreciated the physiology book and said it could also be used as reference book.
The writer, Prof Sohaib Tauheed, said the book had been written especially for the first professional and postgraduates students.
