PESHAWAR, March 17: NWFP Governor Ali Mohammad Jan Aurakzai has said steps are being taken to ensure a good law and order situation in Fata because peace is imperative for development there.
Talking to Maulana Hafta Khan Betani from Jandola, Frontier Region, Tank, and a journalist from South Waziristan Agency, the governor said the agreement reached between tribesmen and the government had paved the way for restoring peace in North Waziristan.
The governor, however, stressed the need for accelerating the peace process. He asked ulema, elders and journalists to play their role in this regard.
He said the government was taking steps to provide education to the people of Fata. The younger generation of tribesmen could excel in any sector if provided with education, he added.
He said that to accelerate the pace of development, the government was spending over Rs9,500 million on uplift projects in Fata. He asked the tribesmen to remove obstacles in implementation of the projects.—APP
