PESHAWAR, March 16: The NWFP TB Control Programme has achieved better results as compared to such schemes in the other three provinces. Provincial Health Minister Inayatullah Khan said at a media workshop here on Friday that 37,000 new TB patients were registered every year. He said 200 diagnostic and 700 treatment centres were providing service in this regard.

He requested the media to help spread awareness about the disease. Community elders, people working for the NGOs and political activists had been involved in social mobilisation. This, he said, had allowed the province to achieve good results.
