BAHAWALPUR, Oct 19: Public safety commissions for the accountability of district Nazims and police officers will be constituted in each district within a few days.
This was stated by federal minister Umar Asghar while presiding over a seminar on “LB system, targets and their achievements” here on Friday.
The minister said women councillors would be granted financial assistance for the implementation of the projects meant for their welfare. He said the government was considering to pay an honorarium to councillors for attending district assembly and tehsil council meetings.
Later, speaking to Nazims at Rashdia Hall, he said the government would grant proprietary rights to the dwellers of Kuchi Abadis. He warned that action would be taken against the factories causing pollution.
He said in future, a quota would be reserved to send Bahawalpur workers abroad.— Correspondent
