HYDERABAD, March 14: A bandit was injured in a police ‘encounter’ in Latifabad on Wednesday and his accomplice was arrested.

According to police, the Madadgar helpline was informed that some gangsters had entered the bungalow of one Sultan. Police rushed to the house where bandits holding inmates hostage were busy in looting.

On seeing police, they opened fire on policemen who retaliated, causing injuries to one of the bandits, Ayaz Kiyani. His accomplice was identified as Asim Hashmi. Both are residents of Liaqatabad, Karachi. The injured dacoit was later admitted to the Civil Hospital Hyderabad.
