RAJANPUR, March 13: Three suspected members of notorious Bosan gang died while two constables sustained injuries in an `encounter’ near Khanwah, a katcha area along the Indus river.
Police told newsmen here on Tuesday that Khanwah area was sieged following reports that Sharif Bosan and his accomplices were present there. It said the police encountered the eight-man gang at 3am. “During the crossfire Sharif Bosan, his father Kagan Bosan and cousin Arshad Bosan died while others managed their escape,” it said.
Constables Muhammad Iqbal and Bilal Ahmad were admitted to the DHQ Hospital with critical injuries.
Police said the gang was involved in a dozens of cases of murder, robbery and kidnap for ransom. Bodies of the Bosans were handed over to their relatives.
