KARACHI, March 13: Five ships carrying containers, coal and to load general cargo are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where four ships, Wan Hai-303, Gulf Bridged to unload and load containers, Zayed to load rice and Bow Clipper to offload chemicals were berthed after the departure of nine.

The ships, which departed included Aka Bhum, Wadi Al-Rayan, Ever Govern, Jial Cheng, Shalamar, Chemstar Clipper, Perka, Soon Fu and Malakand, while Independent Spirit, Corin Thaikos, Red Sea Spirit, Kota Hapas, Wan Hai-303, Thor Falcon, Friendly Sea, Gulf Pride and Oriental Sun are due to sail out on Wednesday.

A total tonnage of 78,953 tons comprising 41,935 tons of export cargo including 3,081 tons of rice and 4,109 tons of cement and 37,018 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Splandour, oil tanker, Hyundai Future and Harmony with containers, Brave John with coal and Leopard to load general cargo.
