Jeep rally begins today

BAHAWALPUR, March 8: Arrangements for the third three-day Cholistan Jeep Rally from Friday (today) were completed on Thursday.

About 70 jeeps were expected to submit their entries by Friday - the last date for the entries.

According to programme, a flag-march of the participating jeeps will be held in the city on Friday evening. The inaugural function will be held at the historic Darbar Mahal on Friday night.

On Saturday, Punjab Tourism Minister Mian Aslam will inaugurate the rally at the historic Derawar Fort in Cholistan. The second leg of the rally will be held on Sunday morning and the prize distribution function will be held at the same place in the evening.

WTO: Punjab Economic and Social Policy Planning Cell chairman and adviser on WTO Inamul Haq has stressed the need to create awareness among the public regarding WTO laws and resolve the problems being confronted due the enforcement of these laws.

He was speaking at a seminar here ‘Challenges and Implications of the WTO regime’ jointly sponsored by Bahawalpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), the WTO Cell, the Punjab Planning and Development Department and the Islamia University.
