HYDERABAD, Feb 22: Sindh Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forests Hassan Ali Chandio has said that work on Hyderabad-Mirpurkhas road to convert it into a dual carriage way will be started soon.
He was inaugurating a 700-line digital telephone exchange at Khipro taluka, Sanghar district, on Thursday.
The minister said that the work on the dual carriage Hyderabad-Mirpurkhas road would be started before Oct 2002 with the cooperation of the National Highway Authority. The road would not only save time but traffic accidents would also be minimised, he added.
He said that from March 1, Hathango, Khai, Sardwari and telephone exchanges of other towns would also be linked with the Khipro digital exchange. The people would soon be provided the internet facilities.
Earlier, the general manager, Southern Telecommunication Region-I, PTCL, Muzaffar Ali Arain told that the digital exchange had been commissioned at a cost of Rs5 million and added that new connections would be given before June, 2002. Later, the provincial minister inaugurated the digital exchange.
