GUJRANWALA, March 6: The family of a man who was amputated by his influential rivals held a demonstration outside the office of DIG (operation) against police apathy here on Tuesday.
They claimed that police were not arresting the accused despite registration of a case. Instead, they were giving the accused protocol in police station. They demanded that accused should be arrested immediately.
The DIG was not present in his office while his staff dispersed them forcibly.
Imran was kidnapped from his house in Ugo Bhinder village, Eminabad, by accused Sanaullah, Ataullah, Nawaz, Shan and Mazhar and took him to their dera in Behlowali village. They amputated his right arm and fractured left leg and threw him in a nearby graveyard. Some passers-by informed his heirs who took him to the DHQ hospital in critical condition.
ROBBERY: Robbers took away cash, jewellery and dowry worth around Rs2.5 million from the house of a trader in Jagna, Satellite Town, on Tuesday.
The robbers sneaked into the house of Arshad Butt on Sialkot Road, locked the family in a room, collected jewellery worth Rs1.5 million, Rs275,000 in cash, three expensive mobile phones and dowry of his daughters worth around Rs500,000 and escaped with the booty.
Police have registered a case.
