Picnicker drowns

ATTOCK, March 5: A young man who had gone on a picnic, to the Dangi Nara village with his friends on Sunday, drowned in the deep pond where they were swimming. He was identified as Asif Mehmood. The village is in the Jand police area.

Meanwhile, a religious leader from the Dahr village, Pir Syed Akrham Shah, died in a road accident.

He was on his way to his village in a pickup van when he fell out from the vehicle when the driver of the speeding vehicle applied brakes suddenly on approaching a speed breaker. During the fall, he received a serious head injury that caused his instantaneous death.

TWO VEHICLES SNATCHED: A truck driver, Meer Azam, resident of Mianwali reported to the Bahtar police station that seven armed men forcibly snatched his truck (LSC-3416) near the Neeka village. He was on his way to Multan with his conductor, Sher Zaman.

The men overpowered both of them and threw them out of the truck at a deserted place.

Meanwhile, a car (MA-786) belonging to Syed Asad Jaffari, was snatched by some unidentified outlaws from the Mochian mohallah in Pindigheb.
