KARACHI, March 3: Sindh Minister for Culture, Tourism and Social Welfare Abdul Rauf Siddiqui on Saturday took serious notice of a report appeared in a section of press about excesses on women and irregularities in Darul Aman, Karachi. He directed officials of his department to investigate the matter.
He also constituted a committee, headed by Director General of Culture Shams Jafrani, to hold an inquiry into the complaints. The committee has been asked to submit a detailed report on the matter within the next three days.
The minister said that the government was determined to implement the law of protection to the rights of women. He warned that culprits would be punished according to law.—PPI
