KARACHI, March 2: A fine century by Aftab Khan propelled Peshawar Panthers to a 45-run victory over Karachi Dolphins in the ABN-Amro One-day Gold League Cup at the UBL Sports Complex here on Friday.
Aftab cracked 13 boundaries in making 122 off 134 balls as the Panthers collected 251 for seven in 50 overs after being inserted into bat by the Dolphins skipper Naumanullah.
Opener Riffatullah Mohmand stroked four fours in scoring a 78-ball 52 and was involved in a second-wicket stand of 109 with Aftab.
The Dolphins innings withered away after a good start. After being 143 for three at one stage, they lost the last seven wickets for just 61 runs.
The talented left-handed Fawwad Alam, however, excelled with 60 off 78 balls with three hits to the fence.
Spinners Zohaib Khan and skipper Arshad Khan bowled splendidly to guide their home with five wickets between them.
