Second defeat for champions

KARACHI, March 2: Defending champions Interloop Wolves Faisalabad suffered their second defeat in as many matches in the ABN-Amro One-day Gold League Cup when Lahore Eagles romped home by five wickets at the Asghar Ali Shah Stadium here on Friday.

The Wolves, who were asked to bat first, were all out for 189 with only Naved Latif (56 off 95 balls, four fours) standing firm.

The Eagles then hit up the required runs in just 35.1 overs thanks to Nasir Jamshed’s brilliant 92 off 90 balls with 13 boundaries. Kamran Sajid made 44 and helped Nasir add 105 for the third wicket.

The Wolves lost their opening fixture against Peshawar Panthers by six wickets two days ago.
